How long does it take for your tray to be finished?
The process of making will take around 2 weeks, if you order two or more, please allow up 6 weeks. True handcrafted quality takes a bit more time, but patience pays off!
Approximate measurements:
Small: 24-26 cm in length, 15-18 cm in width
Medium: 30-32 cm in length, 22-25 cm in width
Large: 35-38 cm in length, 25-28 cm in width
How is it made?
My tableware is hand-carved out of flattened clay, then shaped into a plate on a half-sphere mould in order to create a gentle curved edge. Usually made of black or grey clay and glazed on the inside, leaving the rims in clay’s natural colour. A sophisticated thin bare clay outline emphasises the organic form of each item. The backside is left unglazed and in a final stage sanded for a smooth touch when meeting the table surface.
